Wiz Khalifa is riding high. After scoring a Grammy nominations for “See You Again,” Khalifa and his collaborator Charlie Puth have received a nod for a Golden Globe.
The song, a tribute to the late Paul Walker from the soundtrack to Furious 7, has been selected as a nominee for Best Original Song, a feat that Wiz acknowledged on Twitter.
“Another nomination. This time Golden Globes. F*** ima be high on so many red carpets next year,” Wiz tweeted. “Thank you Taylors for all your love and support. Thank you for making this a big year. We got more to do. Gang or Die.”
The rapper is competing against Sam Smith’s “Writing’s on the Wall” from Spectre as well as Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” from Fifty Shades of Grey. The 73rd Golden Globe Awards are slated to air live on January 10 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
“See You Again” spent 12 non-consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the first hip-hop video on YouTube to surpass one billion views.
