The Weeknd is running laps on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The publication reports that the singer has replaced himself in the #1 position as “The Hills” rises from #2 to #1, replacing his own “Can’t Feel My Face,” which has slipped down to #3, after three nonconsecutive weeks on top. “Hills” also takes over atop Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, a position that “Face” occupied for nine weeks.
“THE HILLS HIT NUMBER 1 !!!!WE STOLE THE NUMBER ONE SPOT FROM OURSELVES! XO DID THAT,” the singer tweeted.
The Weeknd is the first solo male to lead back-to-back since T.I. in 2008 with “Whatever You Like” and “Live Your Life,” featuring Rihanna.
Elsewhere, Drake scores his first Hot 100 top 10 in nearly two years as “Hotline Bling” climbs from #16 to #9.
