Authorities are reportedly looking to the question The-Dream in connection with an allegation that he punched, kicked and choked his ex-girlfriend, who was pregnant at the time, TMZ reports, citing unnamed law enforcement sources. According to the website, the producer denies the allegations.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that The-Dream’s ex-girlfriend, Lydia Nam, alleges that incident took place in April 2013 at New York City’s Plaza Hotel, though Nam did not file a police report until November of that year. At the time of the alleged incident, Nam was six months pregnant with the producer’s son.
Meanwhile, The-Dream insists the allegations are false. TMZ quotes sources close to the producer who claim that Nam, who is Canadian, concocted the story in an effort to extend her U.S. visa.
