Pharrell Williams knows to strike while the iron is hot. Riding his recent wave of success, which includes featured turns on “Get Lucky” and “Blurred Lines,” plus his own Oscar-nominated hit “Happy,” the singer/songwriter/producer is releasing a new album next month.
Called G I R L, the disc feels “festive and urgent,” according to Pharrell, who claims he immediately knew the title of the album as soon as he got the offer from Columbia Records to make it. It’s available for pre-order now, and includes “Happy.” Pharrell will sing that tune on the Academy Awards telecast March 2 on ABC.
