Kanye West has reached another milestone with his latest album, Yeezus.
Despite limited promotion and no official singles, the rapper’s sixth solo effort has sold more than a million copies since its June 16 release date. The feat earned Ye’s project a platinum certification, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.
While it took considerably longer to achieve the feat than it did for previous Kanye albums, Yeezus marks the seventh album to ship gold or platinum in Kanye’s decade-long career.
The RIAA also has bestowed platinum certification on Beyoncé’s latest self-titled album following its stealth release in December 2013. The disc is the fifth platinum album of her solo career.
Elsewhere, Pharrell Williams‘ smash hit “Happy” and YG‘s club anthem “My Hitta” have surpassed the one-million-songs-sold threshold, becoming the latest platinum-selling tracks of the year.
