K. Michelle‘s latest album, Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart? is expected to fall in the top ten debut on the Billboard 200 album chart, which will be revealed later this afternoon. However, the singer is celebrating early based on a note from her record label, in which she learned that her sophomore effort secured the #6 position and sold more than 87,000 copies.
“Just in from Atlantic Records. Rebels you rock. “Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart” makes my SECOND #1 R&B Billboard album this year,” she wrote on Instagram. “It was also #6 overall on the mainstream charts SELLING 87,000 COPIES FIRST WEEK. God is good Lets keep the music alive.”
If those figures prove accurate, Michelle’s first-week sales will best those of her first album, 2013’s Rebellious Soul, which entered the Billboard 200 at number two with 72,000 units sold.
The project includes her single “Love ‘Em All” and a song called “Drake Would Love Me,” as well as production from Eric Hudson, Pop & Oak and Timothy Bloom.
