After joining forces on the “Trap Queen” remix, French Montana and Fetty Wap have announced a joint mixtape called Coke Zoo.

During a chat with Billboard, French revealed why he’s anxious to create something special with the rap newcomer.

“I’m excited to work with Fetty — I just feel like he has this new energy, I’d never heard nobody like that,” the rapper says of his collaborator. “He brings a different style to the game. I always feel like when two artists come together, put their sounds together, magic comes out of it.”

The Bronx rapper adds that working with Fetty, who hails from Paterson, New Jersey, is a good look for the East Coast. “We’re both from the East — I feel like it’s big for our culture,” French says. “We kind of kept it in the team — you know, all the Coke Boys and all the Zoo Gang members.”

The project was first conceived during the pair’s recent trek on Chris Brown‘s One Hell of a Nite Tour, where the rap stars even collaborated with Brown on the road. French hints that Brown may keep for the work they did for his album, Royalty, due out November 27.

Meanwhile, French will announce the release date for Coke Zoo via Instagram next week.
