ABC/Randy HolmesDJ Khaled is celebrating the tenth anniversary of his We the Best label by signing with Epic Records.
Epic Chairman L.A. Reid announced the deal which reunites him with Khaled eight years after he signed the DJ to Def Jam in 2008.
“It is a very satisfying feeling to realign myself with someone who shares my vision of bringing fans the best music possible,” Khaled says. His first music under the new Epic contract will be his ninth album, Major Key. No release date for that project has been announced.
In conjunction with the signing, Khaled is putting out an open call to performers. “To all all aspiring superstars across the globe, I say this, I am searching for new talent to present to the world,” Khaled says. “When it comes to breaking new artists, no one does it better than We the Best Music.”
Khaled has sold 15 million singles during his career. His most recent album, I Changed a Lot, includes the gold hits “Hold You Down” featuring Chris Brown, August Alsina, Future and Jeremih, and “How Many Times” with Brown, Lil Wayne and Big Sean.
