Getty Images via ABCDJ Khaled‘s latest album is going to be major — Major Key that is!
The album cover for the hip-hop radio personality’s upcoming ninth studio album has been revealed. Khaled is seen on a throne fit for a king, among a bed of roses and other assorted flowers, as a real lion poses in front of him. Both stare towards the viewer, making for a visually majestic snapshot, taken by acclaimed photographer Jonathan Mannion.
Khaled recently posted the album cover picture on his Instagram account and expressed some of the inspiration behind it.
“So it was only right that the cover of Major Key represents my journey on the road to more success and the passion it took to get here. Right now I’m in the jungle!!! Thank you to the iconic photographer @JonathanMannion for shooting me and the King of the jungle. Lion order!!! I will never stop!!!,” he wrote.
DJ Khaled is currently starring in two Apple Music commercials — one with supermodel Naomi Campbell and another with actor Ray Liotta. His ninth full-length album, Major Key, is now available for pre-order on iTunes.
It will be released in stores and online on July 29.
