Earlier this month, Howard University selected Diddy to deliver the 2014 commencement speech for his alma mater this spring — an honor that sparked a social media debate, since Diddy never graduated. Now, the rap mogul is asking HU students and graduates to assist him in creating a memorable graduation speech.
In a brief Instagram video, Diddy asks folks to share their advice online by adding the hashtag #DiddySpeechHU.
“ATTN ALL HOWARD ALUM, STUDENTS AND 2014 GRADUATES!! I am coming back home on May 10th to deliver the commencement speech! Please use #DiddySpeechHU to send me your advice, tips & suggestions!! I’m reading all notes and comments now! LETS GO!!!!! #HowardU #HU,” Diddy writes in the accompanying caption.
Before speaking to Howard’s graduating class of more than 1,800 students, Diddy will receive an honorary doctorate in humanities. “I am so humbled to be honored by my Howard family,” he declares on Instagram.
Howard University’s 146th commencement ceremony will take place Saturday, May 10.
