Beyonce made sure to spotlight one of her female fans, Deborah Cohan, who posted a video of herself dancing to the singer’s music just moments before her double mastectomy surgery
In the six-minute clip, posted on YouTube, Cohan dons a hospital gown while grooving to Beyonce’s 2006 dance track “Get Me Bodied,” which appears on her B’Day LP. In addition, Cohan was joined by the surgical and anesthesia teams, all of whom showed off their best dance moves before Cohan laid on the table to have her breasts removed.
To document her breast cancer journey, Deborah has launched her CaringBridge page. “I have visions of a healing video montage,” she wrote. “Nothing brings me greater joy than catalyzing others to dance, move, be in their bodies. Are you with me people?”
So how did Beyonce respond? The singer shared the video link via her Facebook page and wrote, “Deborah, you are awesome!“
