The Queen of Soul on Thursday saluted the influential musician, who was found dead at his suburban Minneapolis home at the age of 57.
“He loved music and he loved it so much that he was in the studio almost, what, 24-7,” she said.
Franklin pointed out that Prince was not like his contemporaries, and was hands-on with his music. “He was his own artist and many other artists looked up to him as a musician and singer, and writer as well, and producer,” she said.
Franklin considers herself a fan of Prince’s work, and there is one song of his that especially stands out. “Anytime he got to the beat you wanted to get up and move, but I especially like ‘Little Red Corvette.’ I love that one,” she shared.
