Is Drake the new King of Pop? For the second time in the “Hotline Bling” rapper’s career he’s going up against Michael Jackson and coming away with record setting numbers. Back in July of this year Drizzy tied MJ’s Billboard record by becoming the second male solo artist to hold the number 1 song and album on the charts for seven weeks. Now Drake has been nominated for 13 American Music Awards, which breaks the 32-year record for the most American Music Award nominations previously held by Michael Jackson who was nominated for 11 in 1984. So does this mean that Drake is the new “King of Pop”?
