The Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Walter Kimbrough from Dillard University New Orleans, Louisiana.

The events are as follows: Celebration Fair (attendance is FREE) will be Friday, January 13, 2017 from 11:00AM – 2:00PM, and the Candle Lighting Ceremony (attendance is FREE) is also on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 7:00PM, all taking place at the MLK Recreation Center 2901 Pennsylvania Ave. Dallas, TX 75215.

The Awards Gala (attendance is $85.00 per person) is on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 6:30PM at the Fairmont Hotel 1717 N. Akard Street Dallas, TX 75201. There will be an Afterglow Event after the Awards Gala taking place at the Fairmont Hotel Regency Ballroom. If you purchased an Awards Gala ticket, it includes the Afterglow Event.

The Parade (attendance is FREE) will be Monday, January 16, 2017 with a kick-off time of 10:00AM, starting at Holmes St./MLK Jr. Blvd ending at Fair Park.

The 2017 Grand Marshal will be Dallas District Attorney Faith Simmons Johnson.
