DMX is the subject of a new documentary that is premiering this week on Tubi. Titled TMZ NO BS: DMX, the film will chronicle the rapper’s rise and demise, as well as his overall impact on hip-hop culture.

“DMX is one of rap’s most iconic figures, ascending to superstardom after rising from the streets of Yonkers to the top of the music world,” the synopsis reads, per HipHopDx. “Despite his incredible success, a slew of legal and personal problems plagued the life of Earl Simmons … TMZ NO BS: DMX presents the story of one of the most legendary hip hop artists of all time — and the demons that haunted him until his untimely death.”

A trailer of the doc captures the dichotomy between X’s success as a rapper and the legal struggles he faced as Earl.

DMX passed away on April 9, 2021, after suffering a massive heart attack. The doc about his life comes out on May 17.
