Adam Silver And The NBA Draft Isaiah Austin

Isaiah Austin left Baylor to declare for this year’s NBA Draft, but sadly he wont be to start a career in the NBA. The center was diagnosed with a genetic disorder that won’t allow him to continue playing basketball. Genetic testing for the draft discovered that Austin had Marfan syndrome, a disorder that affects connective tissue in the body. If Austin’s heart experienced the rigors of an NBA season, he could die. He can no longer play competitive basketball because it would jeopardize his life. Last night he was still at the draft, and in the middle of the first round, Adam Silver and the NBA took Austin with a ceremonial pick. (Listen Below)
