2018 K104/State Senator Royce West “BEAST OF THE WEEK” Watch List

by

2017 was the first year of the K104/State Senator Royce West “BEAST OF THE WEEK” and we’re looking forward to giving out more game balls in 2018 to some of the best high school football players and teams in the DFW!
Let’s take a look at last year’s  K104/State Senator Royce West BEAST OF THE WEEK ballers who are returning this season:
Cedmichael Butler: LB – Samuell
Week 4 BEAST OF THE WEEK
Butler had a productive day last season against Bryan Adams, where he had 12 tackles (two for loss), a fumble recovery and blocked both a field goal and a punt. He finished the season with 86 tackles.
Jacob Clark: QB – Rockwall
Week 1 BEAST OF THE WEEK
Committed to  Minnesota
Rockwall started the year off on the right foot last season defeating defending and eventual back-to-back state champions, Highland Park. Clark and former teammate, Cameron Crayton (will be playing at Georgetown University this fall) linked up for four touchdowns in the Yellowjackets win. The Minnesota recruit finished the day with 399 yards and five touchdowns.
Donavann Collins: DB – Cedar Hill
Week 7 BEAST OF THE WEEK
Committed to TCU
The expectations are high for the Cedar Hill Longhorns heading into 2018. One of the key pieces on their defense will be Collins, who had two interceptions (one returned for a TD) in CH’s 51-0 shutout victory against Irving MacArthur in 2017.
Cam Constantine: QB – McKinney North
Week 11 BEAST OF THE WEEK
Committed to Texas (Baseball)
The McKinney North duo of Constantine and former teammate, Lamar Lucas combined for 480 yards and seven touchdowns in the Bulldogs 59-40 victory over Little Elm to punch their ticket to the playoffs last season. Constantine’s efforts produced 192 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
Kyron Cumby: RB – Plano
Week 5 BEAST OF THE WEEK
Committed to Illinois
Cumby piled up 227 rushing yards and four total touchdowns in Plano’s thrilling 38-36 win over Denton Guyer. Kyron ended the season with 1,797 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns for the Wildcats.
Kayden Steen: LB – Keller
Week 9 BEAST OF THE WEEK
Steen was tackling everything in Keller’s 21-14 win over crosstown rival, Timber Creek. After falling behind early in the first half, the Indians delivered a second half shutout to comeback for the win. Kayden finished with 22 tackles and a sack.
Anthony Watkins: RB/DB – Fort Worth South Hills
Week 8 BEAST OF THE WEEK
Committed to Missouri
Playing both sides of the ball for South Hills, Watkins put together a stat line of 14 tackles (two assisted, one tackle for loss), a fumble recovery and interception that he returned both for touchdowns and rushed for 160 yards and two more touchdowns in a win over Western Hills.
Grand Prairie Gophers
Week 10 BEASTS OF THE WEEK
Last season Grand Prairie returned to the playoffs for the first time since 1989! With new head coach, Tony Tademy and returning key pieces George Gipson (LB),  Sulaiman Kpaka (DL-Purdue Committ), and Tylexis Straughter (RB) the Gophers hope to make another playoff appearance.
John Paul II Cardinals
Week 2 BEASTS OF THE WEEK
The sky is the limit for JPII and Coach George Teague is going to show them the way. After breaking a 33-game losing streak in 2017, the Cardinals will be led by Chase Parker (OL), Donavon Johnson (TE), and Lucas Stradford (WR) in 2019.
Seagoville Dragons
Week 6 BEASTS OF THE WEEK
Segoville was the epitome of IRONMAN football after getting a big overtime win against former district foe, Woodrow Wilson…with only 24 players! Coming back for the Dragons include Rio Hernandez (QB), Jordan Johnson (OL/DL), and Edward Taylor (LB/RB).
