Young Money’s “Rise of an Empire” Receives Modest First Week Sales Projections

by

Young MoneyYoung Money has three of the biggest rap acts — Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Drake — on its roster, but it seems that not even their star power was enough to catapult the first week sales for the label’s new compilation album, Rise of an Empire.

According to Hits Daily Double, the disc is projected to sell between 30,000 and 40,000 copies in its opening week. While industry forecasters suggest the set will have a top five debut, the sales start is a far below its predecessor: 2009’s We Are Young Money, which entered at #9 on the Billboard 200 chart with 142,000 copies sold.

Rise of an Empire features new material from label pillars Tyga, Gudda Gudda, Cory Gunz, Lil Twist, Jae Millz and Shanell, among others.
