YG Explains His 2015 Shooting to a Therapist

by

Scott Dudelson/FilmMagicOne year after being shot in the hip in a recording studio, YG is detailing the incident in a new TV special.

The Compton rapper was wounded on June 12, 2015 in Studio City, California, and he visits a therapist to talk about the shooting in YG and the Therapist, airing Sunday on Viceland.

“I really don’t know who popped me, I’m paranoid,” he tells the counselor during the therapy session. “My people’s like you need to go talk to someone. The past year and a half, I been on my little ‘I don’t trust nobody’ campaign.”

YG explains he would not be so paranoid if he knew the identity of the shooter. “When you get shot and you know who shot you, it’s different. It’s OK, like I know what’s happening. I know why that happened.“

YG adds that after the shooting, he became extremely suspicious of people around him, constantly seeing “red flags.”

Jackson is releasing his second album, Still Brazy, on June 17. Noisey Presents: YG and the Therapist airs Sunday at 10 p.m. on Viceland.
