Wiz Khalifa continues to win big with his smash hit “See You Again.” Just a day after becoming the first rapper to reach one billion views on YouTube with the song’s accompanying music video, he’s racked up another certification. Wiz’s label has announced his Charlie Puth-assisted song has earned a third platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America for selling over three million copies worldwide. To date, he’s sold over 3.5 million units.
“See You Again,” lifted from the Furious 7 soundtrack and film, also serves as the decade’s biggest singles, topping Billboard’s Hot 100 for a 12 weeks and tying the record set by Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” for a rap single’s longest run atop the chart.
In related news, Wiz has been busy in the studio working on his upcoming album, Rolling Papers 2: The Weed Album. It’s the official sequel to his major label debut, 2011′s Rolling Papers, which spawned his chart-topping single, “Black & Yellow.”
