Image Courtesy Warner Bros. Records; Island Def JamWale and Ludacris both released new albums Tuesday, but according to first-day forecasts, the former might outperform the latter this week.
Hits Daily Double estimates that Wale’s The Album About Nothing will sell 90,000 to 95,000 copies in its first week, including on-demand streaming and digital track sales. The 14-song set boasts guest appearances from J. Cole, Jeremih, SZA and Usher as well as samples of Janet Jackson‘s “Go Deep” on “The Girls on Drugs.”
Meanwhile, Ludacris’ Ludaversal is on pace to sell 60,000 to 65,000 units in its opening week. Luda’s standard edition features 14 tracks with contributions from Usher, Big K.R.I.T., his cousin Monica, and Miguel, who croons on his latest single, “Good Lovin.”
The official sales tallies will be released next Wednesday.
