Image Courtesy Jon Dragonette/InterscopeWale has offered a powerful video for “The Girls on Drugs,” his Janet Jackson-sampling single from The Album About Nothing.
In the Dre Films-directed video, the rapper tells a cautionary tale about substance abuse centered around three women, all of whom start their day by working out, then getting high and drinking and later popping pills a night club. At one point, Wale runs into one of the intoxicated girls and tries to give her a reality check after she throws up in his hotel bathroom.
“What’s really wrong with you?” he asks before she walks off. “What I see right now, I see a little girl, scared, sad, confused, don’t know what to do, that live for Instagram likes and H&M sales.”
The Album About Nothing is available now.
