Prior to taking the stage, the rapper told ABC Radio that he hopes to duplicate the success he had this year as he readies his next album, arriving in 2016.

“Well, hopefully it’s as blessed as this one was. I’m very, very blessed to be in the position that I’m in right now, going into my fifth album and working with the people that I have and people like [Alicia Key has] invited me to perform at events like this,” he says. “I’ve come along way and I plan on continuing to evolve as a man and as an artist.”

With less than two months remaining in the year, Wale also reflects on his biggest accomplishment of 2015.  “Dropping my fourth album, probably. That was big for me, being nominated for a VMA, BET Award was good for me.”

Wale has good reason to be proud of his last albumThe Album About Nothing landed at number one on the Billboard 200 chart back in April, selling 100,000 equivalent album units in its opening week.
