Today marks 17th anniversary of the day Tupac Shakur tragically died. The 25-year old rapper was gunned down during a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas around 4:03 p.m on September 13, 1996.
Despite living six days in a medically-induced coma following the incident, the legendary rapper was declared deceased after doctors were unable to stop the internal bleeding. The official cause of death was noted as respiratory failure and cardiopulmonary arrest in connection with multiple gunshot wounds. He was cremated after an autopsy.
With his extensive catalog, including “California Love,” “I Get Around,” “Hail Mary,” “Dear Mama,” the rapper has sold more 75 million records worldwide.
To date, no arrests have ever made in connection with Pac’s murder, which remains unsolved.
