Trey Songz’s latest album Trigga has remained in the top ten for three consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200 chart, and it’s all due to his loyal fans, who he says he owes his career to.
“My fans make me, if it wasn’t for my fans there would be no me,” Trey told ABC News Radio prior to the release of his sixth studio effort.
Trey explained that the time between Trigga‘s release and 2012’s Chapter V was the longest break he’d even taken between albums, and says that his fans could have abandoned him.
“When I wasn’t at my highest point as far as stardom is concerned or chart position is concerned or notoriety, my fans were still there for me,” he says.
He adds, “They were pushing me toward those levels that I had not reached yet.”
The singer’s latest effort has slipped from number five to number nine on the chart, selling an additional 21,853 copies this week. The singer will soon release the video for his new single, “What’s Best For You.”
