Just a day after surprising us with his new Intermission EP, Trey Songz has released a documentary that takes us behind the scenes of his tour preparation, and the recording of his latest free project.
In the nearly 25-minute clip, posted on YouTube, the singer spotlights all the hard work that went into his recently concluded outings with Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj.
“A lot has happened in a year and after most recently completing two mega tours from the U.S. to Europe, I felt re-energized by the love and wanted to share this glimpse of the journey while giving my fans some new music with Intermission,” he wrote in the video description. “The love I’ve received is beyond belief, I’ve attempted to reciprocate it by sharing this vulnerable yet genuine piece.”
In the video, Trey discusses his forthcoming album, Trigga Reloaded, which he hints may be released for free and is more than just an expanded edition of his last album.
“All the songs on Trigga Reloaded are actually new,” he says. “I’m trying to figure out what I can do for my fans, you know, I’m used to doing a lot of mixtapes and giving away a lot of free music, so I’m playing with the idea in my mind of maybe finding a way to release it.”
Trigga Reloaded arrives on June 23.
