Epic RecordsAfter releasing his debut album Rodeo earlier this year, Travis Scott covers the latest December/January issue of Complex, in which he talks about everything from his rise to stardom, to his “mythical” life.
The rapper is proud of his accomplishments so far. “My whole story is straight mythical. It’s tangible, but it’s also what life could be,” he says. “It’s possibility.”
Trav, who hails from Missouri City, Texas, adds that he’s always seeking ways to do more. “There was times I was back home in my bedroom in Mo City and I would cry to myself and s***. I feel like I’m always trying to get to the next point, the next day, get to that goal,” he says. “It’s getting my creativity level up, and just being able to move around how I want to move around.”
He managed to dodge questions about his relationship with Rihanna — the pair met at an Opening Ceremony fashion show last year and later he co-wrote her hit single “B**** Better Have My Money.” However, Travis summed up Rih in three words: “creative,” “inspiring” and “muse.”
Although he’s been dubbed Kanye West‘s protegee of sorts, Trav reveals its “actually very f***ing annoying” to speak about West in every interview, even though he admits that ‘Ye “took me in super early in my career.”
