ABC/Randy HolmesKendrick Lamar leads all nominees for next month’s Grammy Awards, a fact that Travi$ Scott feels is great for hip-hop.
Trav tells Billboard that he thinks its “super dope” that Lamar can even tell his friends and family that he’s received 11 nominations for his acclaimed To Pimp a Butterfly album.
“Man, I hope he brings them home man,” Trav says. “I feel like in hip-hop we just need more artists like, you know, him who can like just keep the drive going, and just keep hip-hop alive, keep the name going, so I think it’s super ill.”
Earlier this week, Kendrick Lamar teamed up with the Recording Academy for a new Grammy Awards promotional video, part of the Academy’s “Witness Greatness” campaign.
The 58th Annual Grammy Awards air live from Los Angeles’ Staples Center on Monday, February 15.
