Rihanna‘s video for “Work” with Drake has racked up more than 98 million views so far, but it almost didn’t take place at Toronto’s The Real Jerk restaurant.
Real Jerk owner Edward Pottinger tells Billboard owner that he refused Rihanna’s request to shoot there twice before giving in.
“They wanted it for a Friday, which is one of your busy days,” he said. “I really don’t like closing down; my customers are inconvenienced.”
Although Director X recently revealed that while some Caribbean restaurants have after-hour parties, Pottinger says, “We’re dining first.”
Aside from a boost in traffic, the owner adds that Rihanna fans flood the joint with one question: “People want to know where Rihanna sat.”
