by

LaFace/AristaTLC fans might be surprised to know that today, February 23, marks 15 years since the best-selling female group of all time released their critically acclaimed album, Fanmail.

The disc spawned two of the group’s biggest singles, “No Scrubs” and “Unpretty,” and has since gone on to sell more than six million copies in in the U.S. alone.

The project also won three out of the eight Grammys for which it was nominated at the 2000 Grammy Awards<, including Best R&B Album, and is as the trio’s second-best selling album after 1994’s CrazySexyCool.

Despite the tragic passing of their band mate, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, in 2002, the remaining members Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas have continued the band’s success and recently celebrated their 20th anniversary by releasing a compilation album, 20.

Fans can expect TLC’s first all-new studio effort since 2002’s 3D, to arrive later this year.
