Timbaland’s wife, Monique Mosley, is filing for divorce after five years of marriage, and if she gets her way, the producer, songwriter and rapper could end up shelling out a lot of money.
According to divorce documents obtained by TMZ, Monique is seeking child support for their five-year-old daughter, as well as a 10-year-old child from a previous relationship. She’s claiming that although she and Timbaland have been married for five years, they’ve been a couple for twice that long. She considers him the father of the older child since he’s “publicly and privately proclaimed this child as his own.”
Additionally, the court papers state Mosley is demanding alimony, life insurance, private school, vacations, summer camp and other expenses. She wants Timbaland to pick up the tab for her legal costs, insisting she’s so strapped for cash she had to borrow money from a friend to pay her lawyer.
Monique also wants money while the divorce proceedings are pending, as well as a lump sum payment afterwards for “rehabilitative alimony” and permanent alimony.
According to TMZ, Timbaland is worth around $80 million.
