ABC/Richard HarbaughCollaborating with rappers is nothing new to Katy Perry: she’s scored hits with songs featuring Snoop Dogg, Juicy J and Kanye West. But now, a rapper has created a song in her honor, and she’s so thrilled that she wants to go to prom with him.
California rapper Lil B has released a song called “Katy Perry,” with a chorus that repeats “Call me Katy Perry” over scary, horror-movie-sounding keyboards. The profanity-laden lyrics aren’t really about Katy — they’re about partying and getting with women — but the idea appears to be that you can call him Katy Perry because he’s kissing a lot of girls, and he’s also shouting out “to all the girls who kiss girls.”
“Before I lay my jet-lagged head down to sleep let me leave u w/a lovely#rare lullaby I came across today,” Katy wrote on Twitter, and provided a link to the song on iTunes. She then added in another tweet directly to the rapper, “Be my prom date.” Your move, Lil B.
