The Weeknd has issued a dark visual for “The Hills,” a track he recently performed at both the South by Southwest and and Coachella festivals.
In the clip, posted on YouTube, a bloody Weeknd emerges from a car crash in a suburban neighborhood. He wanders up the street, somehow managing to ignore an angry female passenger and even the explosion of his car. Eventually, he arrives as a mansion and walks up the stairs into a bedroom where he finds an older lady and two younger women sprawled on a bed.
“I only love it when you touch me, not feel me,” he sings. “When I’m f**ked up, that’s the real me.”
You can expect the follow-up to his 2013 album Kiss Land to arrive later this year.
