The legendary rap group, best known for the 1991 hit “Mind Playing Tricks on Me,” are seeking to raise $100,000 through July 15.
“For the past 9 years, our fans have been pleading with us to drop one more album, and we’ve been having light and sometimes heavy talks about getting back in the studio. Well, we hear you; the wait is over!” their page reads.
The Geto Boys aren’t the only rap groups to have used the site for funding: De La Soul recently has launched a Kickstarter campaign to finance the recording their eighth album, the group’s first since 2004’s The Grind Date.
