Last month, authorities in New York City were looking to question The-Dream in connection with an allegation that he punched, kicked and choked his ex-girlfriend, who was pregnant at the time. Now, according to TMZ, the producer turned himself in early Wednesday morning to New York City police.
The gossip site reports that the hitmaker, born Terius Nash, has been booked on two felony charges — assault and strangulation — as well as three misdemeanors including assault, reckless endangerment and child endangerment.
A rep for Nash told TMZ, “Dream voluntarily surrendered to the Midtown North Precinct this morning in order to responsibly address the false allegations filed against him by Lydia Nam. He is innocent of the charges filed against him today.”
Law enforcement sources previously told TMZ that The-Dream’s ex-girlfriend, Lydia Nam, alleged that the physical altercation took place in April 2013 at New York City’s Plaza Hotel, though Nam did not file a police report until November of that year. At the time of the alleged incident, Nam was six months pregnant with the producer’s son.
