Def JamTeyana Taylor has surprised fans with throwback music. Following the release of her debut album VII last year, the singer has offered up a nostalgic mixtape titled The Cassette Tape 1994, which she’s posted on her official SoundCloud page.
The five-track project includes samples of past hits including Tony! Toni! Toné!’s “Anniversary” and Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison.” Aside from including a guest feature from NBA player and boyfriend Iman Shumpert, Taylor also scored production from her mentor Kanye West, plus Da Internz and J.R. Rotem.
Shortly after releasing the tape, Taylor thanked her fans for the support via Twitter. “Thank You all for the loveeeeee! Ahhh im so happy u love it!!! ???? Volume II coming soon!!” she promised.
In related news, Teyana is currently serving as an opener on Chris Brown‘s “One Hell of a Nite” tour, which wraps September 19.
