Life + TimesJay Z has partnered with Will Smith and U.K. DJ Calvin Harris to create a new comedy for HBO, titled Higher.
According to Deadline, the half-hour fictional series will take place in the world of electronic music and will be written by Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh. Harris, who developed the concept, will serve as an executive producer alongside Smith and his Overbrook production partners Jada Pinkett Smith, James Lassiter, and Miguel Melendez.
In addition, Jay Z and his Marcy Media partners Jay Brown and Tyran Smith are also serving as exec producers. There’s no details on when the project will premiere.
In other news, Jay is also collaborating with Smith to produce the upcoming remake of the musical Annie, which will star Jamie Foxx.
