After partying at separate Grammy after parties back in January, Tameka “Tiny” Harris and her husband, rapper T.I., have battled rumors that the two are separating. Still, the star of VH1’s T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle tells ABC News Radio that the two are not divorcing.
Tiny concedes that the rumors were spurred by cryptic messages about troubled relationships that she posted on Instagram, but adds every post on the social network isn’t necessarily about her relationship or her husband.
“Everything I post they think, ‘Ohhh, she’s talking to Tip. She’s talking about her husband.’ Everything is not about him!” the mother of six says. “Like, if I see something that somebody posts and I like it, I’m going to post it. …I really hate that. But at the end of the day, who cares?”
Tiny, who has been married to T.I. for four years, reveals that her relationship did hit a sour patch, and it becomes harder to reconcile with the world watching at every turn.
“It’s harder just because you feel like people are just butting in and putting their own two cents in; putting their own twist on what they think,” the former Xscape singer explains. “But at the end of the day, if you cancel that out, and you shut it all out mentally [and] physically, it won’t wreck your day.”
Tiny finds solace in correcting fans who negatively comment on her Instagram posts. The reality star, who has more than 1.2 million followers on the photo-sharing social network, isn’t scared to read the often harsh comments.
“You know when I read the comments because I comment back,” Tiny tells ABC News Radio. “Don’t tell me, ‘Oh, you’re a celebrity. You shouldn’t say that.’ Because you had the nerve to say it to me. If I was in your face I would say it to you. So I’m gon’ say it either way.”
T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle returns to VH1 on Monday at 9 p.m. Eastern.
