Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept./Photo from unrelated 10/2014 booking.Suge Knight was transported to a local hospital immediately following his arraignment Tuesday, KABC-TV has confirmed.
He’d reportedly experienced chest pain following the hearing.
Knight, 49, was arraigned Tuesday morning on charges including murder stemming from a fatal hit-and-run in Compton, California, last week. He pleaded not guilty.
The former rap mogul, 49, was involved in an altercation last week outside of a restaurant, after which he allegedly ran over two men in the parking lot. One man was injured and the second, Terry Carter, 55, died. As a result, Knight was charged with one count of murder, one count of attempted murder, and two counts of hit-and-run with an allegation that he committed a serious and violent felony while out on bail in another pending case.
Though his bail was originally set at more than $2 million, it was later revoked due to his past criminal record. If convicted in this case, Knight could face life in prison.
The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
