The man who was convicted in the death of Usher‘s stepson has been sentenced to four years in prison.
Jeffrey Simon Hubbard was sentenced Wednesday in Hall County, Georgia, after he was found guilty last month of homicide by vessel, serious injury by vessel, reckless operation of a vessel, unlawful operation of a personal watercraft, and a boat traffic violation, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Hubbard will serve 15 years’ probation after he’s released from prison.
Hubbard struck Usher’s 11-year-old stepson, Kile Glover, with a personal watercraft in Lake Lanier, Georgia, in July 2012. Glover and another child were in an inner tube at the time of the crash.
Glover was the son of Usher’s ex-wife, Tameka Foster, and TV executive Ryan Glover.
