Robin Thicke Ties Personal Record on Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart

Robin Thicke is now competing with himself.  The singer’s summer smash, “Blurred Lines,” has tied with his 2007 hit, “Lost Without U,” which spent 11 consecutive weeks atop Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

The record marks the blue-eyed crooner’s  personal longest run, according to the magazine, but it’s likely that his Pharrell and T.I.-assisted single could spend an additional week at the coveted spot especially since the song has increased its R&B/hip-hop radio airplay.  The chart is based on radio airplay and online streaming.

In addition, Robin has accomplished another feat by having the cut sitting three weeks on the Adult R&B airplay chart while simultaneously cracking the top 10 with his new single, “For the Rest of My Life,” which moved from #11 to #10. Tamar Braxton stands as the only other artist this year to have two concurrent top 10s in the same format this year with “Love and War” and “The One.” No artists duplicated this feat last year.
