Robin Thicke covered a lot of ground in his hour-long sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah’s Next Chapter, which aired over the weekend.
In addition to spilling about his scandalous MTV Video Music Awards performance with Miley Cyrus, where he downplayed the controversy say, “I’m the twerkee; I’m twerked upon,” the crooner spoke candidly his marriage to Paula Patton, who he considers to be his muse.
“She comes up with most of the album covers, most of the video concepts. She’s my creative guru. She’s my partner. She’s my muse,” Thicke said.
Robin adds that Paula is “cool” with many of his antics, even having nude women parade around in the video for “Blurred Lines.” However, even though she helped with the racy visual, she’s still human. “It’s the same way I get jealous if she’s doing a love scene or something,” said Thicke.
The 36-year-old singer also touched on his legal battle with Marvin Gaye’s family, who claim that “Blurred Lines” is a rip-off of Gaye’s 1977 hit “Got to Give It Up.”
“You know how weird it is to be in a legal battle with my idol, with the person who inspires almost half of my music?” he said.
