ABC/Lou RoccoIt turns out that Rihanna‘s B***h Better Have My Money” henchman Sanam is not the only collaborator she found via Instagram. Lora Arellano, a woman who used to work the makeup counter at Nordstrom, also got her big break after Rih saw her work online.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Arellano reveals that Rihanna discovered her work on Instagram and appreciated her bold color palette so much that Rih hired the artist for her world tour.
“She taught me not to be afraid to try new things that people don’t agree with. I took that back to my company. We make colors no one else makes,” Arellano says. “If this is your dream and you feel it in your gut, then just do it!”
Arellano currently owns her own cosmetics line and explains what she loves most about the industry. “As a makeup artist, it’s so much fun traveling the world and getting to see places I would never, ever see. As a business owner, it’s amazing to see people’s reactions to what our products can do,” she says.
