Rihanna is gearing up for her second annual Diamond Ball benefiting her Clara Lionel Foundation, which takes place December 10 at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.
The black tie event will be hosted by comic and actor Kevin Hart and feature a performance from Lionel Richie. In addition, guests will enjoy dinner and a live auction.
“I’m so proud of the work the Clara Lionel Foundation has done in its first year and can’t wait to celebrate with the iconic Lionel Richie and incredibly talented Kevin Hart at this year’s Diamond Ball,” Rihanna said in a statement.
The ceremony will also see Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino receive the inaugural Diamond Honors Award in recognition of the entertainment company’s philanthropic efforts.
“This foundation is close to my heart and I am so grateful for Michael Rapino’s support and commitment to our cause,” Rihanna said in a statement. “No one is more deserving of the first Diamond Honors Award than him.”
The Clara Lionel Foundation, which honors Rihanna’s grandparents Clara and Lionel Brathwaite, aims to fund efforts that promote health, education, arts and culture globally. Last year, the event raised more than $2 million to provide modern equipment to a hospital named after her grandmother in Rihanna’s native Barbados.
