As Rihanna and Eminem prepare for their “Monster” mini-tour in August, they’ve released a behind-the-scenes video look at the shooting of their “Monster” video.
Slim Shady jokes about going home “to get my strait jacket” in order to recreate a scene from his 1999 “My Name Is” video for the “Monster” clip. He also comments, “Redoing this scene actually brings back no memories for me because I don’t remember it.” Throughout the clip, a voicemail to the rapper from his manager Paul Rosenberg is played explaining the concept of the video.
We also see Eminem comically impersonating Elton John‘s vocal style while shooting a recreation the rocker’s performance of “Stan” with the rapper at the 2006 Grammys. Regarding the extra large powder blue tracksuit he wore on stage, he says humorously, “I never want to perform in these clothes again. Way too small. I’m trying to go quadruple X next time.”
The “Monster” tour kicks off August 7 in Los Angeles for two dates followed by shows August 16 and 17 in East Rutherford, New Jersey and concerts August 22 and 23 in Eminem’s hometown of Detroit.
