Rick Ross has just secured his fifth chart-topping album with Mastermind, which lands at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart this week.
Following several release delays and heavy promotion, the rapper’s set sold 179,000 copies, according to the publication. All of his previous efforts have achieved the coveted spot, except for 2010’s Teflon Don, which came in at #2.
Rozay now joins an elite group of rappers who have scored five #1 albums — DMX and 2Pac also achieved the feat, while Nas and Kanye West each have six, Eminem has seven and Jay Z leads with 13.
Elsewhere on the chart, Pharrell‘s latest album G I R L, came in at #2 and sold 112,000 copies, just shy of besting his last solo album, 2006′s In My Mind, which sold more than 140,000 copies in its first week. The singer’s “Happy” remains at #1 over on the Digital Songs chart, selling 490,000 downloads.
Meanwhile, this week marks the first time Beyonce‘s self-titled album has fallen out to the top ten since being released in December.
