Report: Pitbull Sues Oakley Sunglasses for Using His Name Without Permission

ABC/Matt BrownPitbull is suing Oakley, claiming the popular sunglasses maker is using his name on a line of shades without his approval, according to TMZ.

The suit claims Oakley is selling eyewear branded “Pit Bull” — spelled using two words instead of one — which isn’t sitting well with the 34-year-old rapper, who sells his own line of sunglasses bearing his name.

According to the gossip website, Pitbull goes on to say that Oakley sponsored his 2009 tour and did wear their sunglasses at the time. He believes that proves the company understands that targeting his fans translates into big bucks, and why it’s no coincidence they’re continuing to use his name today.

Pitbull s also accusing Oakley of stealing his “Pitbull” trademark with its “Pit Bull” line.  He wants Oakley to stop selling the sunglasses, and also wants the profits made from selling them.
