Last month, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian finally landed the cover of Vogue magazine. That sparked a social media conversation about whether they deserved to grace the fashion bible’s cover at all. Apparently, ongoing chatter has helped sales of the couple’s issue to skyrocket.
According to The New York Post‘s Page Six, Kimye’s wedding-themed issue is estimated to sell 300,000 to 400,000 copies. Media forecasters suggest those sales projections could compete with other top-selling Vogue issues, including those that featured Beyoncé andfirst lady Michelle Obama on their covers. Those issues sold 355,000 and just under 300,000 copies, respectively.
A spokesperson for Vogue declined to comment on the reported sales figures.
As previously reported, KIm and Kanye have expressed their gratitude for the coveted spread. Kim even acknowledged Seth Rogen and James Franco for making a parody cover, which sees with their faces Photoshopped on the cover. Seems only natural — after all, Rogen and Franco already famously parodied the “Bound 2” video featuring Kim and Kanye on a motorcycle.
