Looks like Kanye West might get his wish after all.
Shortly the rapper criticized the Grammy Awards for being out of touch and asked for a meeting with the Recording Academy’s President, Neil Portnow has agreed to discuss the state of annual ceremony.
“@kanyewest, I’m not on Twitter but just hit me up and let’s have that sit down,” Portnow says via The Grammys official Twitter account.
On Wednesday afternoon, West requested a meeting with Portnow after claiming that The Grammys no longer reflect the music industry. West called for more hip-hop artists, like Future and Young Thug, to be present at the ceremony.
West called himself the “voice of freedom,” adding, “The world needs a guy like me. The world needs somebody to not be scared and tell his truth. You won’t always agree with me but I’m gon always be me.”
