Prince apparently is not the type of artist to encourage his fans to bootleg his concerts. He is suing 22 people for “massive infringement and bootlegging” of concert material, which was shared online, according to Consequence of Sound.
The vast majority of the defendants are anonymous. Two of the defendants who were named ran a bootleg fan page on Facebook.
Prince’s lawsuit, filed last week in a San Francisco court, seeks 22 million dollars — one million for each defendant — plus any profits from the distribution of the material, interest, and legal fees.
